![]() Unfortunately setting RGB back to limited did not seem to alleviate the issue. Naughty not Nice Posts: 3527 Joined: Sat 6:14 am Skyrim sweetfx shadows too dark full#I don't know if the ps3 adjusts its games so the material above 235 is is kept below 235 when using rgb limited vs rgb full so I would say its a good rule of thumb and of no consequence to keep it enabled.Īs was stated before, unless you display can show material below black all the way down to 0 and all the way up to steps 253 on a proper test pattern I would keep the ps3 set to limited and calibrate black level and white level to match with a test pattern to ensure you aren't clipping your dark detail causing a loss of picture information in shadow details. The SRGB standard that games are authored in does make use of the spectrum above step 235 and below step 16 so in this case unless the material is being compressed you should still keep super white on for these. Some content authored in the previously mentioned standards still have a ceiling a little above step 235. this isn't too much of an issue with content authored in the rec 601 or rec 709 standard as these formats don't make use of this spectrum however its a good practice to keep it enabled to be sure there isn't any hard clipping in areas such as cloud highlights. if this is disabled, the ps3 will clip gray scale steps above 235. I agree with most of what you said but I do recommend leaving the super white feature enabled. Skyrim sweetfx shadows too dark 1080p#It's says so on the box, so playing it at 1080p is only gonna cause more issues. Skyrim sweetfx shadows too dark 720p#If you TV is set to 1080P Skyrim automatically sets it back to 720p when the game starts. Also The game is formatted for 720p at it's highest. If you TV is NOT rated to Full RGB then you will have overly dark shadows and other too dark areas. It is a function that only works for PC moniters and Higher end/ newer LCD/LED HDTVs. RGB on limited will help a lot, since it is only for TVs that support it. Mrs shelly Sugarplum Posts: 3440 Joined: Thu 2:16 am RGB - on full already! (thought this would fix it!) If anybody has the same problem or even a solution please comment! In some places my character's face is completely obscured! Turning up the brightness does make it slightly better, but then the light parts are too bright, so I have to choose between blinding brightness or blocky shadows.Īfter having searched every possible thing on the interweb, I found some resolutions but only for pc. ![]() The shadowy side of my character is almost indiscernible (e.g when wearing steel plate, can't distinguish patterns of the armour on the back). At first I thought I was just going a bit crazy, but now I'm adamant something has changed. The shadows and shading seems incredibly dark, as if someone has bumped up the contrast. Hey guys, wondering if you could help me with a small problem because my tech know-how is not great.īasically been playing Skyrim for a while now, then went on one day to find the lighting was a bit off.
